Twin Updates!
Pancho and Lefty are 18 months old!

Well folks, it certainly has been awhile. The last year has been a hard one around here. Aside from the mother of all kidney stones, I also had an emergency appendectomy and we have been deluged with rain. It's not a pretty picture out in the barn area and the boys are not happy at all. I had to move them from their big paddock into the barn stalls with large attached corrals because their paddock was literally under water. They are getting a little waspy without the room to run and the whole place is so wet that it's dangerous to even lunge them. The weather report is good for the next while so maybe we dry up. Patience, patience...

There isn't much news to report except for one thing; Warmbloods Today Magazine found our website and asked us if they could write a feature article on the twins! They did such a nice job and Liz the editor was such a joy to work with. I strongly urge anybody interested in warmbloods of any kind to pick up a subscription to this magazine. It's really great and very affordable. Liz's description of the magazine is this: "Warmbloods Today is not a magazine about training horses, nor an equine wellness guide. There is a myriad of magazines, websites, videos and books already covering these topics. Instead our articles will focus on what’s REALLY happening with every day people and their sport horses. Our goal is to entertain you as well as connect you with other horse owners, breeders, competitors and sellers of these partners in sport."

The boys' article came out in the November/December issue but if you have read the website, you know the story. Most of the content was taken from here. The only disappointing part was the hate mail the article generated. There were three people who somewhat wanted to burn me at the stake for not ultrasounding. A friend of mine called it "Monday morning quarterbacking" and I tend to agree. What's done is done and according to the vet, we would have lost Mollie even if she had only been carrying one foal. The reason we lost her was completely unrelated to carrying twins. I could have lied about the ultrasound and said it was missed (which happens all the time by the way) but I didn't and it is still my hope that others can learn from our experiences. At least the article generated conversation and there is nothing bad about that!

So, that's it for now. No pictures this time because everybody is such a muddy, long haired mess and we are nothing if not vain! Have patience. Pictures will come soon. In the mean time, I urge everyone to check out a copy of Warmbloods Today magazine. It's a great read!
